High School Junior Youth Trips
Applications for the 2019 High School Junior Youth Trips competition sponsored by Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) open November 1. Applications were due Monday, January 14, 2019. Ten qualified applicants will be interviewed for the opportunity to serve as TCEC delegates on the trips. Selected students will be interviewed by independent judges the evening of Monday, February 4, 2019. Winners will be notified that evening. Three students will be selected to receive the Gold Award, which is the Washington, D.C. Youth Tour. Two additional students will be selected for the Silver Award, which is the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. TCEC pays transportation, lodging, meals and other incidental costs incurred with all trips. Students are responsible for souvenirs and extra personal items they may need during the trip. Gold Award – Washington, D.C., Rural Electric Youth Tour
Three winners and one alternate will be selected to attend the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Youth Tour in Washington D.C. June 14-20, 2019. If a winner is unable to attend the tour, TCEC must be notified immediately in order to notify the alternate. |
Silver Award – Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp, Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Two students will be selected to attend the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp hosted by Kansas Electric Cooperatives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The trip is July 12-18, 2019. More details will be provided at the time of interview. |
