Tree trimming meets the American National Standards Institute A300 standard. This is a generally accepted industry standard for tree care.
Before trimming trees near a residence, the contractor attempts to contact the member by knocking on the door. If no one answers, they leave a door hanger letting them know the maintenance occurred. TCEC has a right and a responsibility to trim trees in its rights-of-way to keep your power safe and reliable.

Never tamper with or remove a meter seal
Please take notice that not only is tampering with a meter seal illegal, but it could also result in severe injuries or an additional cost at the member’s expense. Under TCEC’s tariffs, the cooperative must be notified when a meter seal needs to be removed. In this case, TCEC will send personnel to the site as soon as possible.
