Operation Round Up Highlight: Sublime Sanctuary

Located in Goodwell, Sublime Sanctuary is a local animal rescue serving Texas County. The rescue was awarded $1,000 in Operation Round Up funds by the TCEC Foundation to help with securing and expanding its operations.

About Sublime Sanctuary

Founder Paul Baker and his wife Michelle Baker had a dream to start a rescue that soon became a reality. Sublime Sanctuary has been in operation since July of 2021. Sublime is different from a shelter. They are an animal rescue. The animals in their care are free to roam the property, receive proper training, and are cared for in a way to help prepare them for their forever homes.

The goal

Paul wants to be a partner in the community and help the ever-growing population of stray and neglected animals in Texas County.

Sublime's doors are not only open to dogs and cats, but also to cows, rabbits, horses and wildlife animals. Paul hopes to one day be able to take in and rehabilitate injured hawks and eagles in our area.

There will soon be a program in place to train service animals and therapy dogs. One of the Sublime's first rescues, Prince, is the current resident therapy dog and will begin training soon. After training is complete, Prince will then be able to go to local schools and help assist and comfort children in need.

The Operation Round Up impact

The funds from Operation Round Up will secure Sublime Sanctuary's outdoor yard, increase capacity to help with intake from the local shelters, and further impact the neglected animals in the local community.

"We really want to thank the members who round up their bills and helped make this possible," said Paul.

TCEC members make it possible

Operation Round Up would not be possible without our members. If you are not already rounding up your bill and would like to begin, or if you would like to make a one-time contribution, visit the Operation Round Up page in SmartHub to view and change your contribution options.
