Area Students Win Youth Trips

Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) is thrilled to announce three local high school juniors have been selected for a unique educational experience in our nation's capital! From June 16-22, these ambitious students will explore Washington, D.C., during the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, visiting iconic monuments and landmarks that tell the story of America’s history. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is sure to be an inspirational journey filled with new sights, ideas, and possibilities.

Two high school juniors have been selected to embark on an unforgettable experience of the great outdoors this July at Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp. They will enjoy a weeklong camp near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Along with touring Craig Power Station — an important energy landmark within the state — they will participate in other exciting activities designed for outdoor exploration and fun.

Four eighth-grade students have won a spectacular four-day trip to Energy Camp outside of Hinton, Oklahoma. These lucky winners were selected in recognition of their creative essays suggesting ways their schools could become more energy efficient — earning them this exciting educational opportunity! Besides learning about rural electrification at camp, the group will bond by participating in activities such as swimming, hiking and go-cart racing.

Two high school seniors have been awarded $500 scholarships and will take part in the Oklahoma Youth Leadership Summit on March 13. This exceptional opportunity enables these students to access real-world examples of effective leadership while connecting with other inspiring leaders from across the state.
TCEC is dedicated to investing in its members' youth by providing these unforgettable experiences that allow them to explore different places while gaining knowledge of the electric cooperative industry.
