Democracy lives locally at Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC). That means members matter and every vote counts.
Members who live in the TCEC districts of 3, 4, 5, and 9, are encouraged to attend their upcoming meeting.
TCEC is governed by a board of nine trustees, elected by the membership, which provides strategic direction and guidance to ensure the cooperative continues to serve the interests of its members. These trustees are elected by and from the members of their district to a three-year term of office. Every year, three seats are up for election. This year, the board of trustees voted to hold a special meeting with an advisory election to fill a vacancy in District 5 left by Joe Mayer’s passing.
Members should note that TCEC has three types of memberships: single, joint and business. As per the cooperative’s Bylaws, each vote is per membership. If a member has multiple meters under one name, that person likely has one membership and one vote. If a membership is joint, the members may choose to submit a half-vote each. If a membership is for a business, the voting delegate slip must be signed and returned at meeting registration to submit a valid vote.
If a member is unsure of the type of membership they have, the member should call the TCEC office at 580.652.2418 during business hours of 8-5, Monday – Friday, to confirm the type and make any changes at least two business days in advance of the meeting.
Listed below is the meeting information with candidates who have qualified to run for seats on the board (their names are listed in the order in which they will appear on the ballot). Per TCEC’s Bylaws, five percent of the members from a district, present in person and not by proxy shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting conducted within and for that district.
