Building? Let TCEC know!
If you are planning a project that requires electricity where no connection currently exists, notify TCEC early in the process.
Part of the cooperative’s business model is that members contribute equitably to the capital of their cooperative. When TCEC must add equipment to the system the member who requires the new connection pays for the cost to do so.
Your contractor will usually know to contact us before starting a project. We wanted to remind members of this as well. Anything that requires expanding service to a location will involve a contribution to construction cost. Some examples are:
- Constructing a new house or shop
- Adding a storage shed with electricity to your property
- Addition to an existing house that requires a service upgrade
- Installing fence chargers and stockwells
The cooperative’s Rules and Regulations of Service outlines the contribution to construction guidelines on pages 27-28. If you’re planning to build or have any questions call TCEC at 580.652.2418.
